These certainly are some backward times- and not just because Obama got re-elected. Everyone loves to hate “the neocons” for being war-mongers, including hard-core conservatives like myself. Of course, the definition of neocon changes, depending on who you’re listening to. But so many people think Obama is all about ending wars. News flash- he’s not. He had to end the Iraq war to free up the assets to be used in Iran. If you think that’s crazy, you didn’t see CNN this morning- Iranian jets fired on a US drone.
What is a US drone doing in Iran? This isn’t the first one to get caught by the Iranians. Remember last year Iran shot one down.
This war is Obama’s baby. In a spirit of bipartisanship, everyone will pull together, Obama and the neocons, and start another friggin’ war now. Just wait.
The Obama administration couldn’t disclose the details before the election, even though it happened on November 1st.
“Our aircraft was never in Iranian airspace. It was always flying in international air space. The recognized limit is 12 nautical miles off the coast and we never entered the 12 nautical mile limit,” Pentagon Press Secretary George Little said, according to CNN.
According to Little, the Iranian jets fired at it, but aimed too low and missed, did a few loops around it and left.
I sincerely hope this doesn’t come to war. But I’m sure Iran has a different view of the situation.
According to TheAviationist, the SU25 maneuvers quite well at very low speed, hence attacking a slow mover should not have been a factor.
There are still a lot of questions to ask on this story. There are so many drones now, and they are everywhere. PJMedia has been reporting on this “drone war” for a long time. Maybe the rest of us were just blinded by Obama’s media.
